Joyce Brinkman

Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, Joyce Brinkman was captivated by the lives of political leaders Henry Clay and Abraham Lincoln. She entered politics after marrying and moving to Indiana. In the state where five generations of her family had made their homes, she followed her dream. Her political successes spanned three decades. She never lost an election, but while finishing a term in statewide elected office, she found a lump in her breast. She turned to investing time and energy into saving her life. Then God called with another vision for Joyce.

She had written poetry since age nine. She had written speeches, newsletters, campaign brochures, commercials etc. Now Joyce began searching the Bible for God's guidance on the art of writing. She developed a workshop called Writing Faithfully. Bible study and prayer led to the Twelve Ways to Write Faithfully.

Joyce knows there is a great need for written words expressing God's truth. She believes women are an integral part of this mission. Just as Shallum's daughters helped rebuild the wall in Nehemiah 3:12, today's women protect our families with walls of faithfully written words. Joyce lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband, Senior Judge Carl Van Dorn, who has shared her political dreams and her cancer nightmares.
